Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nTown Meeting continued its thoughtful deliberation of the business of the
\ntown this evening as it considered Articles 20 \u2013 49 out of the 66 total
\narticles on the warrant. The meeting adjourned to the Annual Town Election
\nbeginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, to be followed by a third night
\nof Town Meeting on Monday, May 12 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Both events will
\nbe held at Hanover High School.<\/p>\n
Among other significant business, the town unanimously appropriated
\n$500,000 to pay the costs related to a feasibility study to consider the
\noptions for adding to and renovating the Center\/Sylvester School.
\nAdditionally, the Zoning By-law and Zoning Map of the Town were amended to
\nestablish a location in town for a possible \u201cMedical Marijuana Treatment
\nCenter\u201d as required by state law. Some of the longest discussions,
\nhowever, were reserved for issues related to the financial impact of the
\narticles on the average taxpayer.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to all in attendance for a thoughtful reflection of the
\nissues before the town. See you Saturday at the polls, and next Monday at
\nTown Meeting!<\/p>\n
