\nBarn Workshop: Hearth and Home Storytelling
\nSaturday June 7th, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
\nAt the Hanover Historical Society’s Stetson House Museum
\nTaught by Andrea Lovett, professional storyteller<\/p>\n
Have you ever wished you could tell a story better? If you’ve lived a life
\nyou have a story to tell! This workshop is a great introduction for
\nbeginner storytellers into the art form of storytelling. During the
\nworkshop you will begin to explore the art of storytelling through guided
\nsense memory, writing, conversations, individual and group exercises.<\/p>\n
Attendees will leave with:
\nA personal story of their own creation ready to tell, tips on how to
\npresent a successful personal narrative, tips and exercises on story
\npacing, tempo, voice intonation, body language, and facial expression,
\nhandouts and a simple formula to aid in the crafting of additional person
\nnarratives.<\/p>\n
Whether you are telling stories in your board room or with your friends,
\nthis workshop will give you the toolkit to craft any story!<\/p>\n
About the teacher:
\nAndrea Lovett is co-founder of the award winning organization Massmouth
\nInc. She has taught and performed stories nationally and internationally
\nfor 22 years. She recently ran the sold out story venue at the James
\nLibrary in Norwell. Lovett is currently a teaching artist for Young
\nAudiences of Massachusetts. She believes stories and storytelling help
\ncreate strong, healthy, and connected communities.
\nAndrea has been twice featured in the Boston Globe Magazines G page.
