South Shore Habitat for Humanity has returned to Hanover and they want your
\nhelp!<\/p>\n
After a long, cold winter, foundations have been poured and construction
\nhas begun on two South Shore Habitat for Humanity homes on Center Street.
\nSouth Shore Habitat depends on friends and neighbors to volunteer on nearly
\nevery aspect of its operation. Volunteer opportunities include construction
\nand non-construction roles, supporting activities like community outreach,
\ndevelopment and fundraising. <\/p>\n
If you are interested in learning about volunteer opportunities, the next
\nSouth Shore Habitat for Humanity Hanover Local Partnership Committee
\nMeeting (Hanover LPC) will be held June 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the First
\nCongregational Church, Riley Hall, 17 Silver Street, Hanover. Subsequent
\nmeetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month.<\/p>\n
South Shore Habitat for Humanity is a 501c3 non-profit organization
\ndedicated to delivering simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership
\nwith families in need. Based in Weymouth, it serves 35 cities and towns
\nsouth and southwest of Boston. Founded in 1986 as an independent,
\nnon-profit organization, South Shore Habitat works together with families,
\nvolunteers, congregations, and community and business leaders to help local
\nfamilies living in inadequate housing move into simple, decent, affordable
\nhomes of their own. Since its inception, the organization has built 53
\nhomes and provided housing for more than 94 adults and 187 children. <\/p>\n
