Cardinal Cushing Centers, Friendship Home and the South Shore YMCA are
\npleased to announce the third annual Art is for Everyone outdoor art
\nfestival on Thursday, July 10 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the Cardinal
\nCushing campus in Hanover. This free festival is a great way for families
\nto immerse themselves in the world of art and celebrate the work of all 3
\nnon-profit organizations. <\/p>\n
The unique partnership event will feature demonstrations by celebrated
\nillustrator Dan Vasconcellos and Rockland sculptor Maggie MacLellan, as
\nwell as performances by the South Shore Conservatory\u2019s Community Voices,
\na cast from Laura\u2019s Center for the Arts and dancers from Friendship Home
\nand Cardinal Cushing Centers. Vasconcellos will delight the audience with
\nan interactive storytelling experience in which he will spontaneously draw
\nillustrations to capture the story that audience members create. His work
\nhas appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington
\nPost, Golf World, Christian Science Monitor and Harvard Business Review.
\nMacLellan will demonstrate techniques in paper mache sculpting. Her
\ntechnique is to blend paper mache and mixed media to create animals. <\/p>\n
The festival will also offer face painting, pony rides, a celebrity paint
\nbar, barbeque and interactive craft tables hosted by the Boys and Girls
\nClub of Marshfield, New England Village, Road to Responsibility, Bosse
\nMusic and the Hanover Recreation Department. Attendees can explore a
\ncovered wagon, dress in costume and have their photo taken courtesy of the
\nSouth Shore Children\u2019s Museum. Artwork created by members of Friendship
\nHome, Cardinal Cushing Centers and the South Shore YMCA will also be on
\nsale. Proceeds from any sale will support the combined efforts and
\nmissions of these organizations.<\/p>\n
