Connecting the Vines: What to plant in July Sponsored by Eastern Bank and
\nthe Hanover Historical Society Education Fund
\nChildren’s Hearth and Home Program
\nHistoric Food ways at the Hanover Historical Society
\nJuly 30th 2:00 \u2013 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
This program sets children off on an adventure of historical gardening. An
\neducator from the South Shore Science Center will take children on a nature
\nwalk through the museum’s herb garden and show what herbs were used in the
\nmid- 19th Century and how we can use them today.<\/p>\n
Children will use their sense of smell and touch in creating their own
\nflowerpot gardens they can take home. Traditional dress up clothes, games,
\nand a play about gardening will also be provided for families to enjoy at
\ntheir leisure. Children will learn what seeds to plant in July, when they
\nwill bloom, and what type of fruit or herb they will bear.<\/p>\n
Programs are free, but registration is required, and limited to 30 children
\nper session. To register for a session please e-mail
