Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Many people want to give back to the community, but may not have a lot of
\ntime to volunteer. The American Red Cross reminds eligible individuals that
\nin only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel
\ninstant gratification.<\/p>\n
Blood is a perishable product that can only come from generous volunteers.
\nBy donating blood, individuals can make a difference in the lives of
\npatients in their community and throughout the nation. <\/p>\n
Upcoming blood donation opportunity:
\nWednesday, March 18, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Large First Floor
\nConference Room, Hanover Town Hall, 550 Hanover Street<\/p>\n
How to donate blood:
\nSimply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit
\nredcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an
\nappointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a
\nreliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver\u2019s license or
\ntwo other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who
\nare 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at
\nleast 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate
\nblood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger
\nalso have to meet certain height and weight requirements.<\/p>\n
