Summer Programs<\/p>\n
Park and Rec
\nPURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity for all
\nyouth to experience outdoor recreation, both passive and active with their
\npeers, all while creating great memories and new friends.
\nPROGRAM: The Park and Rec program consists of four sessions. This program
\nis open to all in grades K – 6. Each grade travels together to different
\nstations every 55 minutes, these stations range from Arts and Crafts to
\nFloor Hockey to Tennis. Within each grade level 10- 14 children are
\nassigned a counselor to guide them and provide activities throughout the
\nday. The counselor groups are usually done alphabetically and just for
\nattendance purposes. The entire grade plays together. Along with the
\ncounselors, the Parks and Recreation Department also employs an Assistant
\nDirector and three Directors. The Directors provide services such as first
\naid help, weekly talent shows, tournaments and arts and crafts. They also
\noversee all aspects of camp including field trips, pizza days, t-shirt
\ndistribution as well as the normal day to day operations.
\nPROMISE: To do everything possible to allow all children to have the best
\npossible summer by creating many opportunities for children to have fun all
\nsummer long!<\/p>\n
Teen Extreme
\nPURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity for all
\nmiddle schoolers to socialize and stay active during the summer.
\nPROGRAM: The Teen Extreme is a field trip based, exploration program that
\nconsists of seven, 1 week sessions. This program is open to all in 5th \u2013
\n8th grades. Each week, children travel to two new and exciting places
\nacross Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. During Rec Center
\ndays many activities are offered by the staff however, the campers choose
\nwhether to participate or not.
\nPROMISE: To allow for fun age appropriate activities for the Middle
\nSchoolers of Hanover (and surrounding towns) to enjoy and experience each
\nweek of the summer. <\/p>\n
Kids Klub
\nPURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity for potty
\ntrained 3-6 year olds to socialize and have fun with other children their
\nage. Kids Klub will serve as a \u201crecruitment tool\u201d for future Park and
\nRec participants and hopefully lifelong fans of our summer programs.
\nPROGRAM: Kids Klub is a unique pre-k program that runs over the course of
\n7 weeks. Session One is 1 week while Session Two, Three and Four are 2
\nweeks. They offer two different options for parents. Option 1)
\nMonday-Friday (Mondays and Wednesdays at the Pre-K Playground at B. Everett
\nHall (Sylvester) Field) and Option 2) Three days a week on Tuesdays,
\nThursdays and Fridays at the Rec Center. Both options start at 8:30 a.m.
\nand continue until 12:30 p.m. The children are divided into counselor
\ngroups to travel with their groups to different assigned stations.
\nPROMISE: They understand that for many children this may be the first time
\nthat they have been away from their parents for an extended period of time.
\nThey promise that your children will enjoy themselves while creating new
\nfriends in a fun and safe environment. <\/p>\n
