Do you have stuff that\u2019s too bad for the trash?<\/p>\n
South Shore Recycling Cooperative will host a household hazardous waste
\ncollection in Hanover this spring. Residents may attend at no charge.
\n(Commercial generators, please call ahead to 1-617-852-3086 to arrange
\ndisposal and payment. Please bring a check.)<\/p>\n
The collection is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. \u2013 1:00 p.m. on 4\/25 at the
\nHanover Transfer Station, 118 Rockland Street (Rt. 139). <\/p>\n
Bring: Oil based paint, stains, solvents, gasoline, automotive fluids,
\npesticides, photography and pool chemicals, acids, bases, and poisons in
\nsecure, labeled containers.
\nDo not bring: industrial, pathological and medical waste, radioactive
\nmaterials, pressurized gas cylinders or explosives.
\nOil based paint, propane tanks, motor oil, antifreeze, medical sharps, auto
\nand rechargeable batteries, and fluorescent lamps are collected regularly
\nby some towns and some retailers. Residents should use those services if
\navailable. Go to ssrcoop.info, click on \u201cOther Stuff\u201d.
\nLatex paint is messy, but not hazardous. If not recyclable as described
\nbelow, absorb liquid with cat litter and dispose in trash.
\nUsable leftover latex paint is accepted and recycled into new paint
\nproducts at The Paint Exchange LLC of Rockland for a small fee. To see if
\nyour paint qualifies for recycling, and for hours of operation, go to
