Celebrate Earth Day 2015 with the Hanover Open Space Committee for a
\n\u201cSigns of Spring\u201d Trail Walk along the Denham Pond Trails on Wed. April
\n22, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. during school vacation week. Rain Date: Thursday,
\nApril 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. *Kids: Bring your grandparents if Mom and Dad
\nare working! There will be a \u201cmake-up day\u201d on Sat. April 25, 2015 at
\n9:00 a.m. (Rain Date: Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.) for those who
\nare unable to make it midweek.<\/p>\n
This special 25 acre place (#35 on the new Open Space Map) boasts of upland
\ntrails, wetlands, and vernal pools and is teeming with numerous signs of
\nwildlife this time of year. Find out what really happens in a vernal pool,
\nas well as how the New England woodland and wetland plants and animals
\nstart to emerge in this new season.<\/p>\n
Parking is available in the field next to Denham Pond, which is accessed
\nfrom the Circuit Street entrance (opposite 95 Circuit Street). If the
\nparking area looks full, they recommend parking on Hillside Drive and
\nwalking by foot the short distance up Circuit Street to the entrance.
\nPlease wear sturdy shoes (not sandals), long sleeve shirt and long pants.
\nBe sure to bring insect repellent (one containing at least 25% deet is
\nrecommended), water, and perhaps binoculars and a camera.<\/p>\n
