\nDo you have stuff that\u2019s too bad for the trash?
\nSouth Shore Recycling Cooperative will host a household hazardous waste
\ncollection this fall.
\nCollection is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. \u2013 1:00 p.m. (rain or shine) on
\n10\/17 at Hanover Transfer Station, 118 Rockland Street.
\n Recyclable latex paint** also accepted
\nResidents may attend at no charge.
\nCommercial generators, call ahead to 1-617-852-3086 to arrange disposal and
\npayment. Please bring a check.
\nBring: Oil based paint*, stains*, automotive fluids*, solvents, gasoline,
\nherbicides, pesticides, photography and pool chemicals, acids, bases, and
\ntoxins in secure, labeled containers.
\nDo not bring: industrial, pathological and medical* waste, radioactive
\nmaterials, pressurized gas cylinders* or explosives.
\n*Oil based paint, propane tanks, motor oil, antifreeze, medical sharps,
\nrechargeable batteries, and fluorescent lamps are collected regularly by
\nmany towns and retailers. Residents should use those services if
\navailable. Go to ssrcoop.info, click on \u201cOther Stuff\u201d.
\n**Latex paint is not hazardous, just messy. Usable latex paint (still
\nliquid, stored indoors, no chunks, no smell) will be accepted for recycling
\nby The Paint Exchange LLC. For more information call 339-214-8462, or go to
\nRecycleReuseRepaint.com. TPE also accepts latex paint at their Rockland
\nfacility for $2\/can. If not recyclable, absorb liquid with cat litter and
\ndispose in trash. Stericycle Environmental will conduct the collection.
