Special Olympics Massachusetts is excited to announce its newest Young
\nAthlete program. In partnership with Cardinal Cushing Centers in Hanover,
\nthe Young Athlete program will bring developmentally appropriate active
\nplay to families on the South Shore. Special Olympics Young Athletes\u2122 is
\na unique sport and play program for children with intellectual and
\ndevelopmental disabilities. The focus is on fun activities that are
\nimportant to mental and physical growth. Through the program children
\nbetween the ages of two and seven years-old will be introduced to games and
\nactivities designed develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination. <\/p>\n

\u2022 Cardinal Cushing Centers provides individuals with intellectual
\ndisabilities and autism spectrum disabilities of all ages opportunities to
\ndiscover the benefits of a supportive and vibrant community. We are proud
\nof our nationally recognized opportunities for learning, working, living
\nand playing together.<\/p>\n

\nYoung Athletes is an early introduction to sports and to the world of
\nSpecial Olympics. The children learn new things, play and have lots of fun!
\nParents say their children in Young Athletes also develop better social
\nskills. The confidence boost makes it easier for them to play and talk with
\nother children on the playground and elsewhere. <\/p>\n
