Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Hanover Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is enthusiastically looking for new
\nvolunteers – both medical and non-medical. Volunteering with the MRC is a
\ngreat way to meet new neighbors and become involved in the Hanover
\ncommunity. <\/p>\n
The purpose of the MRC is to provide emergency disaster preparedness as
\nwell as assist with public health programs. There is no set training;
\nmembers choose to attend as many or as few of the workshops that are
\noffered. Nor is there any set commitment. Some members ask to be
\ncontacted in an emergency only; others volunteer at scheduled events.
\nWorkshops in local communities are offered in the early evening and cover
\nan ever-changing variety of topics including training in emergency
\npreparedness, presentations on various recent and historical disasters;
\nunderstanding our public health system; and opportunities to become
\ncertified in First Aid and CPR. Many workshops carry nursing, social work
\nand EMT continuing education credits.<\/p>\n
They hope you might join them on Wednesday, January 20th to learn about the
\nHanover Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and to meet some current volunteers.
\nThere will be a short get together with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. in
\nHanover Town Hall, Selectmen\u2019s Meeting room, 1st floor.<\/p>\n
