Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced that Tuesday, April
\n12th is the last day to register to vote at the Annual Town Meeting and in
\nthe Annual Town Election. Town Hall will be open from 8:00 a.m. \u2013 8:00
\np.m. on Tuesday the 12th.<\/p>\n
Any Hanover citizen who will be eighteen on or before the first day of Town
\nMeeting (May 2nd) or by the Town Election (May 7th) is encouraged to
\nregister to vote. Once registered, individuals will be eligible to vote in
\nall elections thereafter, including the Presidential Election in November.<\/p>\n
Citizens of Hanover may conveniently register to vote or change their party
\nstatus on-line, by mail or in person. The link for on-line registration is
\nhere: https:\/\/www.sec.state.ma.us\/OVR . If residents choose to register
\nby mail they should download the \u201cMassachusetts Mail-In Voter
\nRegistration Form\u201d found here:
\nhttps:\/\/www.sec.state.ma.us\/ele\/elepdf\/Voter-reg-mail-in.pdf and mail the
\ncompleted form to the Hanover Town Clerk\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
If voters wish to register to vote in person, they may do so at two
\nconvenient locations: Hanover Town Hall or the Registry of Motor Vehicles.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we continue the run-up to the Presidential Election in November, I
\nencourage Hanover residents to not lose sight of these elections where
\ntheir votes actually \u2018weigh more\u2019 because of the lighter turnouts\u201d,
\nsaid Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier. \u201cSeveral major decisions have
\nbeen made on Town Meeting floor by a one-vote margin and local elections
\nhave turned on less than 10 votes just in the past few years. Plan now to
\nregister to vote\u2026so you can vote in May!\u201d<\/p>\n
