Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Yes, it\u2019s too late to register to vote in the May 2nd Annual Town Meeting
\nor May 7th Annual Town Election. But, did you know that you can still
\nregister to vote at the Special Town Meeting being held on Monday, May 2nd?
\n Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced today that due to an unusual
\nquirk in the law, residents of Hanover who are US citizens and aged 18 or
\nover as of May 2nd may still register to vote at the Special Town Meeting
\nthat is being held that evening at 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
The deadline to register is Friday, April 22nd at 8:00 p.m. The Town
\nClerk\u2019s Office will be open late that night to accommodate anyone
\ninterested in registering. Don\u2019t delay, register today!<\/p>\n
The May Special Town Meeting is typically held to tie up any loose ends for
\nthe current fiscal year that ends June 30th, 2016. The warrant this year
\nincludes several big ticket items, including:
\n\u2022\tThe decision to rescind the rest of the bond for the new Hanover High
\nSchool
\n\u2022\tA request for funds to authorize a Water Master Plan
\n\u2022\tA request for funds for the Pond Street Water Treatment Plant
\n\u2022\tA possible transfer of funds from the Overlay Reserve to the
\nStabilization Fund
\n\u2022\tAmendments to the Senior and Veteran\u2019s Tax work-off programs<\/p>\n
