Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Annual Town Election of our local officers begins this coming Saturday,
\nMay 7th, at 8:00 a.m. at Hanover High School’s gymnasium.<\/p>\n
On the ballot this year are 10 open seats: Board of Assessors (3 year
\nterm), Board of Health (3 year term), Board of Public Works (3 year term),
\nBoard of Selectmen (3 year term), Moderator (1 year term), Planning Board
\n(5 year term), Planning Board (3 year term), School Committee (3 year
\nterm), Town Clerk (3 year term), and Trustee of the Public Library (3 year
\nterm).<\/p>\n
There are declared candidates running for 7 of those seats; three seats
\n(Assessors, Health, and 3 year Planning Board) will therefore be determined
\nby write-in votes. There are two contested races – School Committee and
\nBoard of Selectmen – each have two candidates running.<\/p>\n

\nspace later this week if I receive it by Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Hanover
\nWoman’s Club Junior’s Candidate’s Night continues to be re-broadcast
\nregularly on Hanover Community Access TV. The schedule may be found here:

Polls close at 6:00 p.m. Saturday night. Unofficial results are always
\nannounced outside the gym within a half hour of the close of the polls.<\/p>\n
If you will be out of town and need an absentee ballot, your application
\nhas to be received in the Town Clerk’s Office by noon on Friday the 6th.<\/p>\n
