Celebrate Hanover this weekend!<\/p>\n
The Hanover Cultural Council\u2019s annual community celebration is almost
\nhere, as Hanover Day gets under way later this week.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, June 23, the awards reception for Juried Art Show takes place
\nfrom 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the John Curtis Free Library. Come meet the
\nartists and browse their work on display.<\/p>\n
On Friday, June 24, Hanover’s seniors will be treated to a special BBQ
\nluncheon and entertainment at the Senior Center. Also, the huge carnival
\nopens at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 10:00 p.m. at B. Everett Hall\/Sylvester
\nField. Finally, view short films from some of the best independent
\nfilmmakers in Massachusetts at the 48 Hour Film Project Boston Movie
\nScreening.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, June 25, the fun begins at 9:00 a.m. with the Hanover Chamber
\nof Commerce Hanover Day 5K Road Race and Kids Fun Run. The race begins at
\nSt. Mary’s Church and ends at Hanover Town Hall.
\nAt 10 a.m., events on the main field begin — the craft fair, carnival,
\nentertainment on two stages, and food vendors. Check the schedule for all
\nof the events, including the Battle of the Bands, Hanover\u2019s Got Talent,
\ncraft fair, community art project, fairy houses, Stetson House tours and
\nartisan demonstrations, dunk tank, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and much,
\nmuch more! The daytime MC will be Jerry Thornton of WEEI, while Lisa
\nAzizian of WATD will host the nighttime festivities.<\/p>\n
Come early and stay late to enjoy great food, live music and performances
\nby local talents, kids activities, shopping at the craft fair, and so much
\nmore!<\/p>\n
The celebration\u2019s highlight is the McGee Toyota Fireworks Show on
\nSaturday at 9:00 p.m.!
\nOn Sunday, June 26, the carnival continues from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Visit
\nwww.hanoverday.com for information on how to buy wristbands. Individual
\ntickets also will be sold on all three days.<\/p>\n
