Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The State Primary Election is being held this Thursday, September 8th from
\n7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hanover High School. Yes, that’s a Thursday, and
\nyes it is the first week of school! Crazy, right? Plan your voting
\nstrategy now – when will you find time in your day to go? I am writing in
\nan effort to help you #knowbeforeyougo because it will be a busy day at
\nHHS, and in town!<\/p>\n
First, check your party status so you know which ballot to ask for before
\ngoing to the polls, here:
\nhttps:\/\/www.sec.state.ma.us\/VoterRegistrationSearch\/MyVoterRegStatus.aspx .
\n Remember that there are four parties – Democrat, Green-Rainbow,
\nRepublican, and United Independent Party. If you are registered in one of
\nthose parties, you must take that ballot. If you are “unenrolled”
\n(commonly known as “independent”) or in a political designation, you can
\npick which ballot you want.<\/p>\n
Unenrolled and not sure which ballot you want? Here’s the list of
\ncandidates in the 2016 State Primary:

\nStill not sure? Let me narrow some of it down for you: Nyman\/Moody are on
\nthe Democratic ballot, and DeCoste is on the Republican ballot.
\nAlliegro\/O’Malley are also on the Republican ballot, and Flynn\/Iannella are
\non the Democratic ballot. Neither the Green-Rainbow and United Independent
\nParties have nominated candidates on their ballots. Other questions?
\nDon’t hesitate to stop by my office and view the Specimen Ballots – which
\nwill also be on display at the high school on Election Day.<\/p>\n
How about parking? The high school starts later this year…7:55 a.m.
\nThat will ease traffic flow right at 7 when the polls open. School also
\nends later – 2:40 p.m. Please plan accordingly and avoid those times if at
\nall possible. There will be about 10 “election parking” spots in the front
\nof the building and lots more election parking in the back of the building.
\n You are encouraged to take the Cedar School driveway and come in the back;
\nit’s also a shorter walk from there to the polls. Please don’t park in a
\nnumbered spot – students have reserved parking this year in those spots!<\/p>\n
The Center School addition question will be on the October 1st ballot and
\nthe Presidential Election contest will be on the November 8th ballot – not
\nthis week’s ballot. Stay tuned for further details about both elections.<\/p>\n
