Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced that Wednesday,
\nOctober 19th is the last day to register to vote in the November 8th State
\nElection. The Town Clerk\/Registrar\u2019s Office will be open from 8:00 a.m.
\n\u2013 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 19th.<\/p>\n
Thanks to new legislation that went into effect August 1st, 2016, any
\nHanover citizen who is sixteen years of age or older is eligible to
\nregister to vote. Citizens who will be eighteen on or before Election Day,
\nNovember 8th, 2016 will then be eligible to actually vote. Once registered
\nand 18 years of age, individuals will be eligible to vote in all elections
\nthereafter.<\/p>\n
Citizens of Hanover may conveniently register to vote or change their party
\nstatus on-line, by mail or in person. The link for on-line registration is
\nhere: https:\/\/www.sec.state.ma.us\/OVR . If residents choose to register
\nby mail they should download the \u201cMassachusetts Mail-In Voter
\nRegistration Form\u201d found here:
\nhttp:\/\/www.sec.state.ma.us\/ele\/eleifv\/howreg.htm and mail the completed
\nform to the Hanover Town Clerk\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
If voters wish to register to vote in person, they may do so at two
\nconvenient locations: Hanover Town Hall or the Registry of Motor Vehicles. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe November State Election features the Presidential race, several
\ndistrict races, and 4 ballot questions,\u201d said Harder-Bernier. \u201cIt does
\nnot get any better than this! Please take advantage of one of the most
\nimportant rights in our democracy and register to vote,\u201d Harder-Bernier
