Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Congratulations to Hanover’s voters and amazing election workers for making
\nhistory while Early Voting over the past two weeks. 3,132 residents voted
\nearly, for a total of 30% of all registered voters! Please join me in
\nparticularly thanking Wardens Lois Crocker, Joe DiSabato, Kathy Fanning,
\nCarol Mattes, Rick Mattes, John Morris, and Nancy Sage, Registrars Nancy
\nGoldthwait, Pam Ferguson, and Kathy DiSabato, and Senior Clerk Meg Pallotta
\nfor their extraordinary and selfless efforts to bring Early Voting to our
\ntown. An additional 20 residents served in some way over the course of
\nthose two weeks. Awesome!<\/p>\n
3,132 ballots are sealed, zip-tied, and locked up until Tuesday morning
\nwhen they will be transported to the polls for tabulation. I have mentioned
\nthis comment on social media, but I think it bears repeating for all to
\nhear: a police officer who was doing a detail during one of our busiest
\ndays noted that our “chain of custody” practices surpassed their evidence
\nprocessing because we also maintain party balance while transporting to the
\nlocked location.<\/p>\n
So, I am personally here to tell you that Hanover’s election results are in
\ngood hands. Thanks to all who have entrusted us with your ballot. Nothing
\nis more important to us as we move forward to November 8th. These past two
\nweeks have been democracy at its finest!<\/p>\n
