{"id":2837,"date":"2016-11-26T06:30:14","date_gmt":"2016-11-26T10:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=2837"},"modified":"2016-11-26T06:30:14","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T10:30:14","slug":"winter-festival-in-four-corners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=2837","title":{"rendered":"Winter Festival in Four Corners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n<p>Together with the Hanover Cultural Council, the businesses in the Four<br \/>\nCorners historic district in Hanover, MA present:<\/p>\n<p>Winter Festival in Four Corners<br \/>\nat the intersection of Broadway and Washington Street<br \/>\nFriday, December 2nd from 6:00 p.m. \u2013 8:30 p.m.<br \/>\nSaturday, December 3rd from 10:30 a.m \u2013 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A variety of family-friendly activities are planned throughout the festival<br \/>\nincluding photos with Santa, gingerbread house and ornament making for<br \/>\nchildren, historical walking tours and performances by local dancers and<br \/>\nmusicians. On Friday night, the entire neighborhood will be lit with<br \/>\nluminaries set up by the Boy\/Cub Scouts. There will also be a fire pit and<br \/>\nmarshmallow toasting. On Saturday, there will be a free trolley shuttling<br \/>\nattendees between Four Corners, Cardinal Cushing, St. Andrew\u2019s Church and<br \/>\nthe Salmond School where events are held. <\/p>\n<p>Below is a list of the tentative lineup\u2014schedule subject to change and<br \/>\nwill be updated as new events are added:<\/p>\n<p>Friday Night Events:<br \/>\n?\tStroll historic Four Corners neighborhood by candlelight and roast<br \/>\nmarshmallows by the firepit. Luminaries from 6:00 p.m. &#8211; 8:30 p.m. set up<br \/>\nby the Boy Scouts<br \/>\n?\tAll shops will be open for business<br \/>\n?\tAbbey Knoll Photography will be hosting \u201cPictures with Santa\u201d from<br \/>\n6:30 p.m. &#8211; 7:30 p.m.<br \/>\n?\tRenovisions will be hosting \u201cStories by the Fire\u201d with Hanover<br \/>\nauthor Bill Arienti reading his new book &#8220;The Gift Is In The Giving&#8221; from<br \/>\n7:30 p.m. &#8211; 8:30 p.m. in Renovisions. An assortment of other Christmas<br \/>\nstories will also be read throughout the evening<br \/>\n?\tChristmas carol sing-a-long with brass band accompaniment on the steps<br \/>\nof St. Andrew\u2019s Church at 7 p.m.<br \/>\n?\tSalmond School will be selling Hanover gear<br \/>\n?\tIvy &amp; Olives will be hosting a wreath decorating demonstration at 7:30<br \/>\np.m.<br \/>\n?\tMary Lou\u2019s will be hosting a 50 cent \u201cHot Chocolate Special\u201d<br \/>\nthroughout the evening<\/p>\n<p>Saturday Daytime Events:<br \/>\n?\tAll shops will be open for business<br \/>\n?\tIvy &amp; Olives will be hosting a holiday table centerpiece demonstration<br \/>\nat 11 a.m.<br \/>\n?\tAbbey Knoll Photography will be hosting Pictures with Santa 12 noon &#8211;<br \/>\n2:00 p.m.<br \/>\n?\tThere will be a children\u2019s ornament making craft area to decorate the<br \/>\ntree<br \/>\n?\tChris Haraden of the Historical Society will be leading a walking tour<br \/>\nfrom 12 noon &#8211; 1:00 p.m. that will include stories of murder at Hanover<br \/>\nHouse and highlight Wales Tavern where Paul Revere slept and famed Hanover<br \/>\nAcademy<br \/>\n?\tCardinal Cushing will be selling trees, wreaths, and handmade gifts all<br \/>\nday<br \/>\n?\tSt. Andrew\u2019s will be hosting a cookie sale throughout the event<br \/>\n?\tSalmond School will be selling Hanover gear all day<br \/>\n?\tLorraine\u2019s Cakes will be hosting a \u201cGingerbread House Workshop\u201d<br \/>\nfor children, preregistration required: lorrainescakesupply.com<br \/>\n?\tKenny Academy of Irish Dance Show Troupe presents \u201cAn Irish<br \/>\nChristmas\u201d at 1:30 p.m.<br \/>\n?\tMary Lou\u2019s will be hosting a 50 cent \u201cHot Chocolate Special\u201d<br \/>\nthroughout the day<br \/>\n?\tHanover author Bill Arienti will be hosting a book signing of &#8220;The Gift<br \/>\nIs In The Giving&#8221; at Renovisions<br \/>\n?\t\u201cMom on the Go\u201d Food truck will be available for food purchases<br \/>\n?\tPhoenix Lodge will be open with activities for all ages including<br \/>\ncrafts and musical performances<\/p>\n<p>This is going to be a wonderful town celebration and a great way to get to<br \/>\nknow the historic Four Corners area. We&#8217;ll be adding more activities that<br \/>\nwill be happening during the festival as they are confirmed. This inaugural<br \/>\nfestival joins other well-known events around Hanover on Saturday<br \/>\nincluding: the Lion&#8217;s Club tree lighting in front of the library at 3 p.m.<br \/>\nand the Historical Society Festival of Trees at the Stetson House, 1-4 p.m.<br \/>\nMake plans to be in town during the weekend so you can take part in all of<br \/>\nthese great community events!<\/p>\n<p>Special parking instructions:<br \/>\nFour Corners square is located at the intersection of Broadway and<br \/>\nWashington Street. On Friday the square will be closed to traffic with<br \/>\nparking available at Tedeschi Plaza and Cardinal Cushing.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday there will be no road closures so that customers can easily<br \/>\nreach all businesses. There will be a police presence to help with traffic<br \/>\nand there will be a free trolley sponsored by Posh Wash shuttling people<br \/>\nbetween the following stops: Cardinal Cushing, St Andrews, Salmond School<br \/>\nand Four Corners.<\/p>\n<p>Contact Information:<br \/>\nThe planning committee is still looking for more participation.
