Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced today that nomination
\npapers are now available in her office for the Annual Town Election
\nscheduled to be held Saturday, May 6th, 2017.<\/p>\n
\u201cElection Day is set for May 6th and signed nomination papers are due
\nMarch 20th. It\u2019s an exciting election year thanks to the Presidential
\nElection; I hope that translates to some interest at the town level in
\nrunning for office,\u201d said Harder-Bernier.<\/p>\n
On the ballot this spring will be elections for two members of the Board of
\nSelectmen for a three year term each, two members of the School Committee
\nfor a three year term each, one member of the Board of Assessors for a
\nthree year term, one member of the Planning Board for a five year term, one
\nBoard of Health member for a three year term, one member of the Board of
\nPublic Works for a three year term, two Trustees of the Public Library –
\none for a three year term and one for a one year term, and one Moderator
\nfor a one year term.<\/p>\n
Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Town Clerk\u2019s Office,
\nany of the related departments, or sitting members of the board or
\ncommittee they are interested in becoming a part of in order to gain more
\ninformation about an open position. <\/p>\n
To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of
\nregistered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot. Candidates
\nfor office have until Monday, March 20th to submit the signed nomination
\npapers to the Registrar\u2019s Office for signature certification. <\/p>\n
