Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nLocal storyteller Ryan Racette, of Big Ryan\u2019s Tall Tales, will facilitate
\na six-week reading program at the John Curtis Library for families with
\nchildren three to five years old. The program will run on Wednesdays at
\n4:00 p.m., April 5 through May 17. <\/p>\n
\u201cRaising a Reader\u201d is an early literacy program that helps families of
\nyoung children develop, practice, and maintain habits of reading together
\nat home. Its core program model, which offers support for strengthening
\nthe culture of reading at home, is driven by more than 25 years of research
\nthat show the most significant factor impacting a child\u2019s academic
\nsuccess is being regularly read to by a parent or other primary adult
\ncaregiver before starting kindergarten.
