You may use your driver’s
license or Mass ID to check in! Using a state-issued ID will speed up the
process, but Massachusetts law does not require you to do so. If you wish
to state your name and address to check in, you may still do so. Poll Pads
have been on my radar and wish list for years, but they were only recently
approved for use in Massachusetts. We can’t wait to try them out!”

Harder-Bernier continued, “Representative David DeCoste reached out last
week and together we were able to add Poll Pads to a House budget amendment
request. We won’t know until early summer if the request is approved.
At the same time, I quickly worked with LHS Associates to obtain both a
quote for the House budget process and this free demonstration at our
upcoming Town Meeting. We are thrilled to be on the cutting edge of this
technology.”

According to Jeff Silvestro, President of LHS Associates, area provider of
KNOWiNK technology, KNOWiNK provides a unique approach and proven solution
that will deliver an incomparable, state-of-the-art, seamless voter
check-in and verification process for the Town of Hanover. Based on
national data, Poll Pads save election costs and time, reduce employee
overtime, save paper, and speed up check-in for registered voters by
scanning driver’s licenses on a Poll Pad.

For more information about Poll Pads, please contact Hanover Town Clerk
Catherine Harder-Bernier at (781) 826-5000 x1079 or
catherine.harderbernier@hanover-ma.gov or Brenda L’Italien of LHS
Associates at (978) 651-2511 or bcm@lhsassociates.com .
