\nre-election to the School Committee.<\/p>\n

\nRe-elect to School Committee<\/p>\n
I would welcome the opportunity to continue to serve Hanover as a member of
\nthe School Committee. Four years ago I was appointed to fill a vacancy.
\nThe next year I was elected to serve on the School Committee. I have
\nserved as Vice-Chairperson for the past two years. <\/p>\n
One of the reasons that I\u2019ve chosen to run for office again is to
\ncontinue to work with Superintendent Matthew Ferron and his incredible
\nadministrative team. I appreciate and value the vision developed by our
\nSuperintendent. He is committed to creating and maintaining a level of
\neducational excellence that all students deserve. Working with him and his
\ndedicated staff has reaffirmed for me that the Hanover school system must
\ncontinue to prepare all students for the 21st century. If you have not had
\nthe opportunity to visit our schools lately, I would encourage you to
\nattend one of the many events held at our different schools. Just check
\nthe on-line district calendar. I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll come away with an
\nincredible sense of how amazing and talented our youngsters are under the
\ndirection of teachers who honestly care about their students. <\/p>\n
My husband and I have lived in Hanover for over 45 years. All three of our
\nchildren graduated from Hanover High. With the skills and knowledge they
\ndeveloped during their years in the Hanover schools, they were prepared for
\ncollege and a career. I will work to ensure that the same opportunity is
\navailable for all the children of our town. <\/p>\n
One of the most important responsibilities of the committee is to approve
\nthe school department budget. After a great deal of preparation by the
\nsuperintendent and his staff, the School Committee just recently passed the
\n2018 budget. It is my hope that the town of Hanover will continue to
\nsupport our schools. Not only is it the responsibility of the committee to
\nprovide for our student\u2019s academic needs, but we must also meet the other
\ncomponents of a total education. The fine arts programs, the music
\nprograms and educational athletics are all a critical part of a student\u2019s
\neducation. I would be committed to ensure that the Hanover Schools provide
\nthe very best for the children of our town.
\nWith my background as an educator, I believe that my perspective and
\nexperience has been helpful to the committee. I was a teacher for 11 years
\nand then became a high school principal. My most recent position was the
\nprincipal of our neighboring community, Pembroke. It was a special
\nopportunity to be part of a new school system. <\/p>\n
After 28 wonderful years working in schools, I retired six years ago.
\nSince my retirement, I have been involved in several projects; however,
\nserving our town has been the most satisfying. I hope to be re-elected to
\nthe School Committee so that I can continue to serve. I have always been
\nproud to be a Hanoverian!<\/p>\n
