I have lived in Hanover for over 24 years with my husband Mike and our 3
\nchildren. During most of that time, I\u2019ve been very involved with the
\ntown, both as an employee and as a volunteer for a variety of
\norganizations. From 1993-2005, I worked as secretary to the Hanover Zoning
\nBoard of Appeals. I left this position for family reasons, returning to the
\nwork force in 2010 to work for the Norwell Planning Board. I recently
\nretired so am available to devote the time needed to serve as Trustee.<\/p>\n
My most recent volunteer experience has been with the Friends of the John
\nCurtis Library. I joined this wonderful group about 7-8 years ago. I helped
\nwith book sales as well as organizing the book sale room prior to beginning
\nmy job in Norwell. Since then, my support has mainly been financial. Other
\nvolunteer positions I\u2019ve held include: 10 years with the HPTA in a
\nvariety of positions at Cedar School, Hanover High School and town-wide; 5
\nyears coordinating the Destination Imagination program in Hanover,
\nincluding hosting and the logistical planning for the regional tournament;
\n4 years with the Hanover Foundation of Educational Enrichment; and 2 years
\nas Committee Chairperson for Cub Scout Pack 37. I was also a member of the
\nHanover Newcomers Club for 8-10 years, one of which I served as President.<\/p>\n
Prior to having my children, I worked as a Human Resources professional for
\n8 years. For 5 years, I was the Assistant Director of Human Resources for
\nthe CPA firm, Laventhol & Horwath. Prior to that position, I was an
\nEmployment Representative at Cullinet Software.<\/p>\n
What are the major issues confronting the town which involve your office?
\nPlease express your opinion on these issues and how you proposed to deal
\nwith them.<\/p>\n
The major issue for the John Curtis Library is finding a replacement for
\nour library director, Lorraine Welch. I\u2019m hopeful that the Trustees will
\nbe given the opportunity to be involved in the hiring process. I believe my
\nyears in recruiting and employee relations will be an asset to this search.<\/p>\n
Why are you running for this office?<\/p>\n
Now that I\u2019m retired and have more flexibility with my time, I would like
\nto get involved in public service in Hanover. I can think of no better
\nplace to do so than the John Curtis Library. I\u2019m looking forward to
\nworking with the library staff, its volunteers and the community. Thank you
