A 1988 graduate of Hanover High School, Jocelyn was born and lived more
\nthan 15 years in town with her parents, Bob and Elaine Reardon, and her
\nbrother, Sean. She returned to Hanover 15 years ago with her husband, Dave,
\nHHS \u201987. They have two sons in the Hanover Schools.<\/p>\n
Experience:
\nJocelyn has spent the past 25 years in leadership roles at technology
\norganizations across healthcare, financial services, and as an independent
\nmanagement consultant. Highlights include:
\n\u2022 Leading executive teams through strategy and priority planning to
\nalign operations to goals across a staff of 3,000
\n\u2022 Leading a weekly Executive Operating Committee at an $85M health
\nIT company
\n\u2022 Managing large-scale transformation programs to ensure
\norganizations were setup to support corporate goals
\nJocelyn is a \u201892 graduate of Smith College with a major in US History and
\nminor in US Government. Within Hanover, Jocelyn has worked as an election
\nworker, supported override campaigns, was an appointed member of the Open
\nSpace Committee, and actively participates in her children\u2019s schools,
\nsports, and local community organizations.<\/p>\n
Main Challenges:
\nCommunication\u2014 Ensure transparency of town project plans and that
\nresidents\u2019 voices are heard; Improve collaboration and accountability
\nbetween volunteer, appointed and elected citizens and town leadership.
\nFiscal \u2014Set specific goals for route 53 revitalization, Sylvester School
\nrenovation, and other large redevelopment projects that prioritize
\nresidents\u2019 concerns to maintain rural charm, while preparing Hanover to
\nmeet growing service demands for the next 50 years. Address the rising tax
\nburden on all residents. Continue work with town and local resources to
\nslow the trend of our senior citizens leaving town due to cost of living
\nincreases.
\nIt will be critical to continue the momentum underway to increase the
\ncommercial tax base in Hanover. This will require working with business
\nleaders and local regional government to attract business and services
\nspecific to the needs of Hanover residents. Actively participate in budget
\nbuild process to ensure the town is making smart choices about which
\nprojects to complete and when. Understand use-plans for town assets,
\nensuring opportunities for reuse today, while maintaining flexibility and
\nstores to meet future needs.
\nSafety – Create a visible, everyman-accessible format for residents to
\nunderstand current water demands and challenges. Ensure our first
\nresponders\u2014fire, police and supporting services\u2014have the resources
\nneeded for our growing population and increasing density. Build upon the
\nexisting Fireworks site plan, addressing current and future risks.
\nChanging Town Government\u2014Jocelyn is an enthusiastic proponent of our move
\nto a Town Manager structure, and could not be more pleased with the
\nefficiency, opportunities, and professionalism this move has brought to
\ntown. Now is the time to clearly establish the role for today\u2019s Selectmen
\nto shape the policy, goal setting and strategy of the Board for the coming
\ndecades.<\/p>\n
Why Now:
\nJocelyn has an undeniable ability to get things job done. She has worked
\nhard to make smart, pragmatic choices in life and believes she will be able
\nto successfully carry these traits over to serving the Town of Hanover.
\nWith her growing children and a recent change to a part-time, virtual job
\n(shedding her long commute), Jocelyn now has the time to return to serving
\nour community. She is eager to listen to, represent and act on behalf of
\nyou, her neighbors.<\/p>\n
