What are the major issues confronting the town which involve your office?
\nPlease express your opinion on these issues and how you propose to deal
\nwith them.<\/p>\n
\tThe revitalization of Route 53, especially the redevelopment of the
\nHanover Mall, is a major issue confronting the town. I would be supportive
\nof economic development in this area and job creation initiatives in
\ngeneral. I will work with local business owners, the chamber of commerce,
\nother town departments and residents to ensure that proposed future
\ndevelopment makes sense for the town and our residents. Small businesses
\ndrive our local economy and a successful business structure is the best way
\nto keep our property taxes in check and keep our community affordable.<\/p>\n
Why are you running for this office?<\/p>\n
\tAs a life-long Hanover resident, I am passionate about public service and
\ncommitted to our special community. I earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree in
\nGovernment from Suffolk University and I will also complete my Master\u2019s
\ndegree in Public Administration in May 2017. Professionally, I have worked
\nat the State House for the past five years where I have gained invaluable
\nexperience with regard to the inner workings of government, the legislative
\nprocess, and the complexities of our state laws and regulations. Our
\ncommunity faces a very important juncture in our history as we deal with
\ndefining issues such as the revitalization of Rt. 53 and the Hanover Mall.
\nThis area of town has provided a significant tax base that has benefited
\nall local residents for generations. Moving forward, we must support smart,
\nmodern planning that sustains successful economic development throughout
\nHanover. I strongly believe that these projects, and other strategically
\nimplemented planning initiatives are critical to the future success of our
\ncommunity. I care deeply about my hometown and I would relish the
\nopportunity to be a member of the board continually charged with the
\nresponsibilities of smart, sustained and responsible growth that benefits
\nall residents. I believe that my education, practical state government
\nexperience, knowledge of the community, strong work ethic, and passion for
\npublic service would allow me to be a strong contributor to the Hanover
\nPlanning Board. <\/p>\n
