Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Town of Hanover continues to coordinate closely with the Massachusetts
\nDepartment of Environmental Protection, the MA Attorney General\u2019s Office,
\nand Tetra-Tech, the contractor chosen for the environmental cleanup
\noccurring at the National Fireworks Site. The scope and amount of
\nexcavation and cleanup will likely result in work crews continuing work
\nthroughout the summer months and into the autumn months. <\/p>\n
The work includes excavating, removing, and in some cases, detonating items
\nthat remain from the research and manufacturing activities conducted at the
\nsite decades ago. Given the ongoing activities, additional security
\nmeasures, including trail closures, additional no trespassing signage, and
\nthe erection of fencing, will be taken to secure the site. <\/p>\n
The public is asked to cooperate by complying with the no trespassing
\norder. Information is posted on the Town of Hanover\u2019s website at:
\nwww.hanover-ma.gov , and an email has been set up to answer any questions:
