This just in from a grateful Light Family!<\/p>\n
“Sunday, September 24th our family and neighbors laced up our sneakers to
\nwalk along the world-renowned Boston Marathon course in the 2017 Boston
\nMarathon Jimmy Fund Walk. It was a beautiful day for a walk. Our family
\ncommitted to raise at least $5000. We’ve set our goal high because we know
\n1st hand that the money raised is crucial to the innovative cancer research
\nand exceptional patient care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Jimmy Fund
\nClinic. Our daughter Alison was diagnosed with Stage 4 Germ Cell Yolk Sak
\nTumors in September 2014, and the care we received immediately from Dana
\nFarber and Boston Children\u2019s Hospital far exceeded our expectations.
\nWithin a 24 hour period we were told our then 3 year old daughter had
\ncancer and after hours of testing we were told that her cancer was
\ntreatable and even curable \u2013 music to our ears. Alison is still under
\nthe care of an Oncology Team at Dana Farber and has regular checkups at the
\nJimmy Fund Clinic and yearly scans. She continues to be cancer free and we
\nwalk in honor of her and all the children that will follow. <\/p>\n
Our town of Hanover rallied around our family that year with love, support,
\nhelp \u2026 and Hanover you continue to show up – we are happy to report that
\nour little Jimmy Fund Yard Sale (on September 9th) raised about $2000 for
\nthe Jimmy Fund Walk. Thank you to everyone that donated \u201cawesome
\nstuff\u201d to sell. Thank you to those who helped with set up, take down and
\nto those who made several trips to Savers afterward! Finally, thank you to
\nthose who stopped by to shop. We couldn\u2019t do this without you. <\/p>\n
Cancer touches all of us. Our family is doing our part to help conquer this
\ndisease and with your help, we can move closer to the ultimate finish line:
\na world without cancer. <\/p>\n
