Please join me in congratulating the Hanover Department of Public Works!
\nOur very own DPW will be honored this Friday at the North and South River
\nWatershed’s Annual Meeting with a “Healthy Rivers Award” for their efforts
\nto remove a culvert on the Iron Mine Brook and open up the habitat for
\nbrook trout. <\/p>\n
The event will be held on Friday, November 3rd from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
\nat the South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell.<\/p>\n
The program for the evening:
\nThe wine and cheese reception will begin at 7:00 pm.
\nKeynote \u2013 Connecting People Connecting \u00a0Rivers
\nNew Board Members \u2013 Brendan Murray and Lindsey Jevne
\nVolunteer \u00a0of the Year \u2013 Lisa Lenon
\nCitizen Science Volunteers of the Year \u2013 Ken and Jeana Homola<\/p>\n
Barbara Pearson Award Winner \u2013 Cardinal Cushing Centers and supporting
\ncast for reconnecting 8 miles of the Third Herring Brook to the North River
\nby removing the Tack Factory dam<\/p>\n
Healthy Rivers Award \u2013 Hanover Department of Public Works, Trout
\nUnlimited Southeast Chapter, Ivas Consulting, Cavanaro Consulting for the
\nrestoration of Brook Trout habitat on Iron Mine Brook
\nCome enjoy complimentary refreshments and celebrate the accomplishments
\nwith NSRWA. They hope to see you there!<\/p>\n
