This just in from the good folks at the Hanover Food Pantry:<\/p>\n
“At this time of year especially, we want to express our gratitude for the
\ncontinued support we receive from so many Hanover residents and
\norganizations. In particular, generous donations received from the Tri
\nTown Rotary and Phoenix Lodge will make the holidays a little bit brighter
\nfor many Hanover families.<\/p>\n
Our shelves are kept stocked with weekly donations collected at Hanover
\nchurches, as well as from contributions from the North River Community
\nChurch and the Fellowship Baptist Church, Panera Bread, Shaw’s, Stop &
\nShop, Council on Aging, Walnut Hill Garden Club, Wal-Mart, Hanover Woman’s
\nClub, Juniors, the Cushing residences, Girl Scouts, The Hanover Club,
\nHanover High, Middle and Elementary Schools, the Norwell School Bus
\nCollection as well as the annual U.S. Postal Workers Food Drive in May.<\/p>\n
We are grateful for financial assistance from local businesses, family
\ntrusts, the Congregational Church, Arbella Insurance Company through
\nmatched or doubled donations from Bunker Insurance and Monaghan & Tinkham
\nInsurance, along with the Lions Club, and the Altrusa International Group.
\nMonetary contributions allow us to purchase those items not donated and to
\nprovide gift cards so that our clients can purchase milk, eggs, cheese and
\nother refrigerated groceries.<\/p>\n
The Hanover Emergency Food Pantry assists an average of 34 people from 11
\nfamilies each and every week throughout the year. Each family is allowed
\nonly one visit per month, so quadruple those numbers and you can see that
\nthere is a significant, ongoing need in Hanover.<\/p>\n
Volunteers are at the Pantry every Monday (Tuesdays on Monday holidays) to
\nreceive and shelve donations between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays
\nwe are open from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. for distribution to clients. <\/p>\n
Holiday Hours next week: Monday 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for intake and
\n12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. for distribution. Closed Wednesday, November 22.<\/p>\n
