Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover Special Town Meeting voted a resounding yes on both the Zoning and
\nGeneral By-Law questions regarding banning recreational marijuana sales
\nthis evening\/Monday.<\/p>\n
With a larger-than-expected 319 people in attendance a week before
\nChristmas and in the middle of Hanukkah, it was clear that Hanover voters
\nfelt strongly about banning recreational marijuana sales within our borders
\n– even despite the busy time of year. The Zoning Article needed a 2\/3
\nmajority to pass, which it did with only a few nays. The 2\/3 majority was
\ncalled by the Moderator without needing to count and without standing
\nobjection. The General Bylaw only needed a simple majority, which it
\nreceived easily.<\/p>\n
Thanks to all who took time out of their busy lives to participate in our
\ngreat democracy!<\/p>\n
