Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced this week that
\nnomination papers for election to local office are now available in her
\noffice for the Annual Town Election scheduled to be held May 12th, 2018.<\/p>\n
\u201cElection Day is set for May 12th and signed nomination papers are due
\nMarch 26th, 2018. We\u2019ve had several very early inquiries in this office
\nabout the timing of our local elections. The advance interest is
\ndefinitely unusual. I hope that translates to an exciting spring election
\nseason!\u201d said Harder-Bernier.<\/p>\n
On the ballot this spring will be elections for two members of the Board of
\nSelectmen for a three year term each, two members of the School Committee
\nfor a three year term each, one member of the Board of Assessors for a
\nthree year term, one member of the Planning Board for a five year term, one
\nBoard of Health member for a three year term, one member of the Board of
\nPublic Works for a three year term, one Trustee of the Public Library for a
\nthree year term, and one Moderator for a one year term.<\/p>\n
Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Town Clerk\u2019s Office,
\nany of the related departments, or sitting members of the board or
\ncommittee they are interested in becoming a part of in order to gain more
\ninformation about an open position. <\/p>\n
To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of
\nregistered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot. Candidates
\nfor office have until Monday, March 26th to submit the signed nomination
\npapers to the Registrar\u2019s Office for signature certification. Attached
