Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced today that nomination
\npapers are now available in her office for the Annual Town Election
\nscheduled to be held May 11th, 2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cElection Day is set for May 11th and signed nomination papers are due
\nMarch 22nd, 2019. Given the abolishment of the Board of Public Works last
\nyear, there are only nine open seats, which is a relatively light election
\nyear,\u201d said Harder-Bernier.<\/p>\n
On the ballot this spring will be elections for one member of the Board of
\nSelectmen for a three year term, one member of the School Committee for a
\nthree year term, two members of the Board of Assessors \u2013 one member for a
\nthree year term and one member for a two year term, one member of the
\nPlanning Board for a five year term, one Board of Health member for a three
\nyear term, one Trustee of the Public Library for a three year term, one
\nTown Clerk for a three year term, and one Moderator for a one year term.<\/p>\n
Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Town Clerk\u2019s Office,
\nany of the related departments, or sitting members of the board or
\ncommittee they are interested in becoming a part of in order to gain more
\ninformation about an open position. <\/p>\n
To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of
\nregistered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot. Candidates
\nfor office have until Friday, March 22nd to submit the signed nomination
\npapers to the Registrar\u2019s Office for signature certification. Attached
