Molyneaux will be honored at a reception to be held on Sunday,<br \/>\nApril 28th, 2019.  The community is invited to attend. Please join the<br \/>\nSpirit of Hanover Community Service Award Committee, Les, and his friends<br \/>\nfor this reception in Les\u2019 honor at the Hanover Senior Center, located at<br \/>\n665 Center Street in Hanover from 1:00 p.m. \u2013 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April<br \/>\n28th, 2019.  A light luncheon will be served.<\/p>\n<p>Long-time residents will remember Les as a teacher at Hanover High and<br \/>\nHanover Middle School from 1967 \u2013 2002.  During that same time, he also<br \/>\nfound time to be a licensed Real Estate Broker, own the North River<br \/>\nAntiques Center, and serve on several committees in town.  Les was a member<br \/>\nof the Hanover Conservation Commission for 13 years, and a member and chair<br \/>\nof the Hanover Board of Health for 12 years during that time.  He also<br \/>\nserved as a member and chair of the Hanover Health Insurance Advisory<br \/>\nCommittee, and still serves as an Election Worker.<\/p>\n<p>After he retired from the Hanover Public Schools, Les went on to serve on<br \/>\nthe Hanover School Committee, the Hanover School Building Committee, and<br \/>\nthe Hanover Community Access and Media Committee.  More recently, he became<br \/>\na member of the Hanover Council on Aging Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n<p>An active member of the Republican Town Committee since 1976, Les is also a<br \/>\nrecognized expert local historian.  He has been an integral part of both<br \/>\nthe Hanson and Hanover Historical Societies, serving the Hanover Society as<br \/>\nPresident for 11 years and Director for 14 years.  Additionally, he served<br \/>\nas a Director of the Friends of the Stetson House, and is a life member of<br \/>\nthe Marshfield, Scituate, and Abington Historical Societies.  An<br \/>\naccomplished author, Les co-wrote \u201cImages of America, Hanover MA\u201d with<br \/>\nBarbara Barker, and recently published his own \u201cThomas Drew\u2019s South<br \/>\nShore\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Spirit of Hanover Community Service Award is presented to an individual<br \/>\nwho best exemplifies the spirit of Hanover by voluntarily giving selflessly<br \/>\nof their time, energy and talent to the Town and its citizens thus<br \/>\nenriching our lives, fostering a true sense of community and inspiring us<br \/>\nall to a higher level of service.<\/p>\n<p>Past recipients of the Award include Mrs. Virginia Szejnar, Mrs. Barbara<br \/>\nBarker (-Kemp), Mr. Richard \u201cDick\u201d Eaton, Mrs. Jean Migre, Mrs. Lois<br \/>\nVan Doren, Mr. John Thomson, Mrs. Barbara Itz, Ms. Catherine<br \/>\nHarder-Bernier, Mrs. Joanne B. Cure, Mr. Harold (Hal) D. Thomas, Mr. Roger<br \/>\nA. Leslie, Sr., Mrs. Judy Grecco, Mr. James Gallant, and Mr. Ray Miller.<\/p>\n<p>Receipt of the Award is commemorated by this reception and by having the<br \/>\nrecipient\u2019s name inscribed on a perpetual plaque which is prominently<br \/>\ndisplayed in the foyer of the Town Hall.
