{"id":3454,"date":"2019-09-09T17:00:02","date_gmt":"2019-09-09T21:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=3454"},"modified":"2019-09-09T17:00:02","modified_gmt":"2019-09-09T21:00:02","slug":"community-arts-grants-applications-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=3454","title":{"rendered":"Community arts grants applications available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n<p>Apply now for community arts grants through the Hanover Cultural Council!<\/p>\n<p>Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs are<br \/>\ndue October 15th.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever wondered what happens with the funds raised at Hanover Day?<br \/>\nMoney from our annual celebration, plus Hanover\u2019s share of state cultural<br \/>\nfunds, is used to support arts, science, and humanities projects throughout<br \/>\nthe year.<\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council has set an October 15, 2019 deadline for<br \/>\norganizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants to fund<br \/>\ncultural activities in Hanover. These grants can support a variety of arts,<br \/>\nscience, and humanities projects, including exhibits, festivals, field<br \/>\ntrips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops,<br \/>\nand lectures.<\/p>\n<p>Past events have included the Summer Concert Series by the Parks and<br \/>\nRecreation Department, the Drama Club Dinner Theater programs at South<br \/>\nShore Vo-Tech, funding for the Hanover Performing Arts Company, Pastel<br \/>\nPainting Workshops, the Annual Hanover Day Art Exhibit, Museum of Science<br \/>\nOutreach program at Cedar Elementary School, several museum passes and<br \/>\nchildren\u2019s programs at the John Curtis Library, and sponsorships of<br \/>\nprograms for the Walnut Hill Garden Club, South Shore Natural Science<br \/>\nCenter, Hanover senior center, and many others.<br \/>\nThis year\u2019s allocation to Hanover from the Massachusetts Cultural Council<br \/>\nis $6,200, and additional funds are available thanks to the past success of<br \/>\nHanover Day. The Council will meet later this fall to review the<br \/>\napplications and award the grants.<\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural<br \/>\nCouncils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
