Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nThis just in from the good folks at the Hanover VNA Community Foundation!<\/p>\n
The annual fund drive sponsored by the Hanover VNA Community Foundation
\nonce again appeals to the community to join in providing guidance and
\nsupport to those in need. This cooperative effort relies solely on this
\nfund drive as its primary source of income.<\/p>\n
The Hanover VNA Community Foundation is comprised of a dedicated board of
\nvolunteers who work closely with the Hanover VNA, which consists of
\nvisiting nurses who provide medical care and oversee the wellness of
\nHanover residents. The Foundation also sponsors several programs in
\nconjunction with the Police and Fire Departments.<\/p>\n
Every year the Foundation awards scholarships to Hanover High school
\ngraduates planning careers in nursing and allied professions. In
\naddition, they continue to support Hanover Parks and Recreation Department
\nby funding camperships for Hanover children (27 in the summer of 2019).<\/p>\n
During the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, the members of
\nthe Hanover VNA Community Foundation, working closely with the Hanover VNA,
\nthe Hanover Police, the Hanover Schools and several churches and
\norganizations, reach out to families who need their support. Food items,
\ngift certificates and toys are offered, hoping to alleviate some of the
\nstress many may be experiencing.<\/p>\n
Emergency assistance is also provided throughout the year to residents of
\nHanover who have financial difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances,
\nresulting in the inability to obtain food, clothing and other necessities
\nneeded for themselves and their families. They try to help, especially
\nwhen other means of assistance are unavailable.<\/p>\n
Although the main thrust of the Hanover VNA Community Foundation is to
\nreach out throughout the year to residents in need, they do hold an annual
\nOpen Meeting. All in the community are invited to attend and expand their
\nknowledge of current issues affecting their well-being. One of the
\ncommittees under their \u201cumbrella\u201d researches and arranges for guest
\nspeakers to present at the Open Meeting. This year, Dr. Monarch, an
\nauthority on Lyme disease and its far reaching effects was the guest
\nspeaker. Over 100 people attended! The HVNA looks forward to their
\ncoming Open Meeting this Spring!<\/p>\n
The HVNA is most appreciative of the past generosity of the Hanover
\nresidents, businesses, churches, organizations and schools who help make
\nall of this possible, and hope that you will join them in making the 2019
\nFund Drive a success.<\/p>\n
