Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
I could not let this past week go by without a shout out and “the town’s”
\ndeepest thanks to the Emergency Management team – including the Hanover
\nPolice Department, Hanover Fire Department, Hanover CERT, Hanover DPW, and
\nHanover Community Development and Municipal Inspections, and also Hanover’s
\nCommunity Services, Finance, Library, Information Technology and School
\nDepartments for stepping up to the plate this week and managing an
\nincredible response to some very challenging circumstances.<\/p>\n
Fully 84% of us were without power at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, and we were
\ndeclared back up and at 100% power at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. I’ve seen
\npictures of decades old trees across Main Street and Whiting Streets, a
\nmotorcycle accident at West Hanover Square, and reports of over 100
\nincidents that needed an emergency response. Thankfully, I am not aware of
\nany life-threatening injuries to a Hanover resident. Our partnership with
\nNational Grid and other regional response teams was tremendous. Was it
\nperfect? No. Was it incredibly safe, well communicated given the
\ncircumstances, and was Hanover well served by it’s public servants? You
\nbet. So proud to live in this town!<\/p>\n
