The festive evening of community<br \/>\nkicks off SSC\u2019s year-long 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last 14 years, the South Shore community has come together to<br \/>\nsupport Chase Away the Winter Blues, with the belief that arts education is<br \/>\ntruly transformative for all and should be accessible to everyone. In 2019,<br \/>\nthe gala raised over $330,000, making it the most successful Blues to date.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds from the gala benefit SSC Community Partnerships, which includes<br \/>\nImagineARTS, SSC\u2019s arts and literacy program in the Brockton public<br \/>\nschools; Creative Arts Therapies programs; and SSC\u2019s tuition assistance<br \/>\nprogram, affording students the opportunity to receive a music education.<br \/>\nSSC believes that everyone, regardless of age, ability or circumstance, can<br \/>\nbenefit from the transformative nature of a music and arts education <\/p>\n<p>Blues Co-Chairs, Linda Jones and Rennan Bayturk, along with a Blues<br \/>\ncommittee comprised of SSC trustees, overseers, parents, and friends work<br \/>\nendlessly to create a fabulous evening filled with music, friendship and<br \/>\ngenerosity. The event begins with a cocktail reception with an SSC faculty<br \/>\njazz quartet, followed by a seated dinner program with outstanding music<br \/>\nperformances, an exciting live auction, followed by a paddle raise.<br \/>\nThroughout the evening guests can take chances on unique raffle baskets.<\/p>\n<p>Live auctions items include a Curated Trip to Portugal donated by Travel<br \/>\nSommelier, Getaway Week in Winter Park, Colorado, JETaway weekend to<br \/>\nMartha\u2019s Vineyard courtesy of Penmor Aviation, a private Sunday Jazz<br \/>\nBrunch catered by Paul Wahlberg, Key West Week in Old Town to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>This year the Raffle Committee has coordinated an exciting offering of<br \/>\nraffle baskets including Boston Lyric Opera opening night of \u201cNorma,\u201d<br \/>\nJewelry donated by King\u2019s Jewelers, Tennis with tickets to the Tennis<br \/>\nHall of Fame, Beauty with spa treatments, Sports\/Entertainment with tickets<br \/>\nto Bruins, Golf with Granite Links Foursome.  Raffle baskets are valued<br \/>\nfrom $500 to $1,500.  Tickets can be purchased online or at the event for<br \/>\n$50 for one ticket or $100 for three tickets.<\/p>\n<p>For the late-night crowd, there is a fabulous After Party, with sweets and<br \/>\ndrinks, sponsored by Massa Products Corporation.  Festivities include East<br \/>\nCoast Soul, back by popular demand and the ever-popular sing-along Piano<br \/>\nBar, featuring SSC\u2019s fabulous faculty members including Emily Browder<br \/>\nMelville on vocals, Peter Mundt on guitar and vocals and Jeff Williams on<br \/>\nthe piano.
