The annual town census has been mailed to all Hanover households. New again
\nthis year \u2013 if you do not have any changes to your town census, you may
\nsubmit your response on-line! All residents should review the information
\non the form, make any changes if necessary, and sign and return the form as
\nsoon as possible. If there are no changes to your town census, go to:
\nhttp:\/\/atotw.com\/maillist\/lt.php?tid=waNSteJUkvOkiJjWdxHVR6Mq5EArr6K\/uYxZZgYz6vZoqLt7nDO4RqoN783ZLADJ
\nand fill out the on-line form. Household members who are temporarily
\nliving away from home, such as college students, members of the military
\nservices, etc., should not be removed from the census if they plan to use
\nHanover as their voting address.<\/p>\n
Also included in the census mailing are a Hanover School Information Sheet
\nand a Dog License Application. If applicable to your household, these forms
\nshould also be completed and may be returned in the enclosed addressed
\nenvelope or dropped through the mail slot with your census in the front
\ndoor of the Hanover Town Hall.

\nCompletion of the annual census is important for a number of reasons. It
\nassists in accurate municipal planning, it assists the police and fire
\ndepartments in case of an emergency in your home, and it allows Hanover to
\nreceive the proper allocation of state and federal funds and grants. Filing
\na census can provide proof of residency for a number of legal requirements
\nsuch as in-state tuition at state colleges, housing benefits, veterans\u2019
\nbenefits, and insurance benefits. Also, any registered voters in a
\nhousehold that fails to complete an annual census will lose their
\n\u201cactive\u201d voter status, which is an important consideration in this busy
\nelection year.<\/p>\n
