Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced yesterday that
\nnomination papers are now available in her office for the Annual Town
\nElection scheduled to be held May 9th, 2020.<\/p>\n
\u201cElection Day is set for May 9th and signed nomination papers are due
\nMarch 20th, 2020. At this point in the year, there are a total of ten
\nanticipated open seats. On the ballot this spring will be elections for
\ntwo members of the Board of Selectmen for a three year term, two members of
\nthe School Committee for a three year term, one member of the Board of
\nAssessors for a three year term, one member of the Planning Board for a
\nfive year term and one for a one year term, one Board of Health member for
\na three year term, one Trustee of the Public Library for a three year term,
\nand one Moderator for a one year term\u201d, said Harder-Bernier.<\/p>\n
Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Town Clerk\u2019s Office,
\nany of the related departments, or sitting members of the board or
\ncommittee they are interested in becoming a part of in order to gain more
\ninformation about an open position. <\/p>\n
To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of
\nregistered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot. Candidates
\nfor office have until Friday, March 20th to submit the signed nomination
\npapers to the Registrar\u2019s Office for signature certification. Attached
