Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier reminded residents that 2020
\nTown of Hanover dog licenses are still available on-line, by mail, or at
\nHanover Town Hall. The licensing period is January 1 \u2013 March 31, and a
\n$10 late fee applies beginning April 1. All dogs over the age of 6 months
\nare required by law to be licensed. The license is good for one year, and
\ncosts $10 for spayed or neutered dogs, and $15 for intact dogs. Residents
\nover the age of 70 will be given a free license for their vaccinated dog
\nupon proof of the owner\u2019s age. <\/p>\n
In an effort to make this process easy for residents, there are several
\nways to license your dog.
\n\u2022\tThe easiest way is on-line via a link on the Town Clerk\u2019s section of
\nthe Town of Hanover\u2019s website, which is also here:

\n. Pay on-line without leaving the comfort of your home! Almost one-third
\nof Hanover residents now license their dogs on-line, and more folks surely
\nwill given social distancing and COVID-19.
\n\u2022\tResidents may also fill out the dog license application that is found
\non the Town Clerk\u2019s section of the Town of Hanover\u2019s website at:

\n. This is the same application that was included in the census this year.
\nCompleted forms may be mailed in with your payment, proof of current rabies
\nvaccination and proof of spaying or neutering (if you have not submitted
\nthat information previously) to: Town Clerk\u2019s Office, 550 Hanover Street,
\nHanover, MA 02339, and your tag will be mailed back to you.
\n\u2022\tAs has always been the case, dog licenses may also be obtained at the
\nTown Clerk\u2019s Office, but given COVID-19, the process is a little
\ndifferent. Please bring the same paperwork \u2013 current rabies vaccination,
\nproof of spaying\/neutering if you have not submitted that information
\npreviously, and your money order or check payable to the Town of Hanover.
\nPut it all in an envelope addressed to the Town Clerk\u2019s Office and
\ndeposit it in the front door mail slot. We\u2019ll mail your tag back to you.<\/p>\n
Unlicensed dogs are subject to a minimum of a $25 fine, with an additional
\n$25 fine if unleashed and another fine of $50 if unvaccinated for rabies.
\nDon\u2019t delay; get your dog\u2019s license today! Late fees begin April 1st!<\/p>\n
