Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
What a day! Unofficially, 2,234 Hanover residents showed up or voted by
\nmail in the middle of a pandemic for a local election. That’s the highest
\nAnnual Town Election vote total since I have been Hanover’s Town Clerk. I
\nam so proud of you, Hanover – that’s over 20% for a local election. Who
\ndoes that? Hanover does! The unofficial election results are attached to
\nthis e-mail.<\/p>\n
Further congratulations to Rhonda Nyman and Vanessa O’Connor – our newest
\n(do I need to mention two female?!) members of the Board of Selectman, and
\nto Ruth Lynch and Pete Miraglia, our returning and new (respectively)
\nmembers of the School Committee.<\/p>\n
But for me, your election administrator, I am most proud of the good folks
\nwho made all of this happen. They put themselves at risk so that democracy
\ncould be served. It was our version of the front lines, and I could not be
\nmore proud of the work we did yesterday. Every precinct balanced perfectly,
\nand of course, every single vote was counted! The booths were cleaned after
\nevery voter, and every single voter wore a mask, stood in line, social
\ndistanced, and was extraordinarily patient. Some of the folks who chipped
\nin represented HFD, HPD, HEMA, CERT, HHS, HDPW, HCDMI, Hanover Town Hall,
\nCOVID-19 special volunteers, and my heroes, all of Hanover’s election
\nworkers. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!<\/p>\n
