The new Zoom music-making platform<br \/>\nallows friends and grandparents to participate in the classes as well, from<br \/>\nafar. <\/p>\n<p>Flute players at all levels are invited to join the ONLY online flute<br \/>\nsymphony! SSC\u2019s Flute Symphony, which runs Monday and Wednesday evenings<br \/>\nfrom July 6-29, gathers online to play and learn together, culminating in a<br \/>\nvirtual ensemble of flute symphony selections on Wednesday, July 29.<\/p>\n<p>SMFCONNECT, a virtual program of Summer Music Festival, offers for winds,<br \/>\npercussion and string students currently in grades 5 \u2013 college, an<br \/>\nopportunity to develop their core musicianship in a supportive, fun, and<br \/>\ninteractive environment. The program, structured to be flexible, runs from<br \/>\nMonday through Thursday, July 13 through July 30, gives students and<br \/>\nfamilies the opportunity to choose from a wide range of experiences and<br \/>\ntime commitments.<\/p>\n<p>For singers, Summer Vocal Institute Online, which runs from July 27 through<br \/>\nAugust 7, offers a safe way to continue building their vocal skills.<br \/>\nFeatures include daily movement, vocal technique, ensemble and solo<br \/>\nrepertoire, ear-training, dynamic group instruction, individual instruction<br \/>\nin masterclass format, technical support for Zoom and the Acapella app, and<br \/>\nvirtual ensemble keepsake recordings. It also provides a social connection<br \/>\nwith singing friends, materials for easy, at-home practice between sessions<br \/>\nand plenty of time away from the screen to enjoy summer.<\/p>\n<p>For children interested in drama, SSC\u2019s Curtain Going Up, a one or<br \/>\ntwo-week program running from August 3 through August 14, introduces<br \/>\nstudents, ages four to six, to the world of theatre through dramatic play,<br \/>\nmovement, music, and art activities. Each week focuses on a different<br \/>\ntheme, concluding with a Friday presentation for family and friends.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s Put on a Show, for ages six to 12, runs July 20 through July 31 and<br \/>\nexplores drama skills online. Students explore character development,<br \/>\nmonologue and dialogue, writing short skits, improvisation and more through<br \/>\ndrama games and guided activities.  Students prepare and share a<br \/>\npresentation for family and friends on the last day.  Both classes are<br \/>\nconducted via Zoom.<\/p>\n<p>South Shore Conservatory (SSC) also announced that, in addition to offering<br \/>\na 12 percent discount on all private lessons, they are also offering a five<br \/>\npercent multi-student family discount, and a ten percent frontline worker<br \/>\ndiscount when students lock in their lesson time for the 2020\/2021 school<br \/>\nyear.  Enrollment for the fall is open now.
