The
featured book is In the Small, Small Pond by Denise Fleming. The activity
is provided by the South Shore Family Network with funding from the MA
Dept. of Early Education and Care.

Story Walk is a fun educational activity that places the pages from a
children’s story book along a walking route. It helps build children’s
interest in reading while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for both
children and their grown-ups.

The pages of the story are set out 10 to 12 feet apart and to be viewed by
family groupings including an adult responsible for children in attendance.
The targeted age range is for families with children from 3 to 5 years
old, but all children in a family are welcome to attend. This is a
self-guided outdoor activity, set up for two weeks; it is free and open to
the public each day.

Story Walks combine the pleasure of reading wonderful children’s books
with the joys and benefits of walking together outdoors.

For more information, please call 781-826-2972, extension 4, or email the
children’s librarian at lcampbell@ocln.org.

For “Around Town on the Web”,
Cathy H-B

—
“Around Town on the Web” (“ATOTW”) has been a valued push notification
since the spring of 2004 – long before there were push notifications!

For submission guidelines and answers to frequently asked questions about
“ATOTW”, please go to
http://atotw.com/maillist/lt.php?tid=xodILJYEj7y5AydNykl3XpM3ftsH+EZhm+TxuI5dRp5oqLt7nDNoRqoN783ZLADJ
To search for archived “ATOTW” news, view the archive

.
If you would like to be added to this distribution list, click here

.
Please follow the link in the response e-mail to validate your account.
