Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors is proud to announce their first ever virtual
\nCommunity Kids\u2019 Halloween Costume Contest. <\/p>\n
Normally during this time of year the Hanover High School Band would be
\npracticing and getting their costumes ready to lead the Club\u2019s Annual
\nHalloween Parade, and members of the Club would be filling goody bags of
\ncandy to give out and lining up some fun entertainment for the children.
\nThis year with the COVID-19 restrictions, the HWCJ\u2019s is unable to bring
\nthe parade to the town as they have done for the past 37 years. <\/p>\n
The last week of October is \u201cAdvocacy Week for Children\u201d in the General
\nFederation of Women’s Clubs which the club has been federated under since
\n1970. The parade is the annual community service project the HWCJ\u2019s does
\nto participate in Child Advocacy Week in order to show support for the
\nchildren in our community. <\/p>\n
This year the HWCJ\u2019s is excited to offer a Virtual Costume Contest for
\nthe children in our community. Everyone so looks forward every year to
\nseeing all the children in their costumes. At least this year that will
\nnot be different!<\/p>\n
The Club has 4 different categories based on age groups; they will be
\nlooking for originality and of course, cuteness. Each category has a
\nprize. Details as to how to enter are listed below and in the attachment.<\/p>\n
HOW TO ENTER:
\n\u2022 Take a picture of your child in their costume and email it to
\nhwcj1970@yahoo.com .
\n\u2022 Subject: Costume Contest
\nInclude in email:
\n\u2022 Name, grade and age of child and which category you are entering, along
\nwith parent\u2019s name and best phone number to reach for prize announcement<\/p>\n
The deadline to enter is midnight November 1st; winners will be announced
\nNovember 7th.<\/p>\n
PRIZE CATEGORIES:
\n1. AGES 0-3 years\u2019 old
\n2. PRE-K TO FIRST GRADE
\n3. 2ND, 3RD, AND 4TH GRADE
\n4. GROUP CATEGORY – 2 or more participants of ANY AGES (there will be 2
\nwinners for this group category). This category is perfect for older kids,
\nbut young ones can enter, too.<\/p>\n
PRIZES:
\n$20 gift cards: Lil Duke\u2019s Ice Cream Shoppe, Toy Box, Dairy Queen,
\nTarget, Chick-Fil-A<\/p>\n
