Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
In 2019, homelessness in Massachusetts increased by approximately 14
\npercent, and by 20.6 percent since 2010. Plymouth County is not immune to
\nthe rising challenges of homelessness.<\/p>\n
October 24th is National Make A Difference Day. To help address one of the
\nmany needs recognized by the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless, the
\nmembers of Altrusa of Plymouth County are sponsoring a collection of new
\nsweaters and sweatshirts. The goal is to collect 500 sweaters or
\nsweatshirts to distribute to those who need them. And, they are asking
\nthose in Plymouth County who can help, to please do so. We can all make a
\ndifference.
\nThis is one of Altrusa\u2019s flagship events this year. Despite the global
\npandemic affecting how we all operate, Altrusa members felt it was
\nespecially important to support the homeless as cooler temperatures are
\nhere.<\/p>\n
Please donate to the Altrusa Sweater\/Sweatshirt Drive for the Plymouth Area
\nCoalition for the Homeless
\nPlease bring a new sweater, sweatshirt, fleece, or jacket for teens, adults
\nor children. Make sure the sweater has tags still on it and is sealed in a
\nclear plastic bag. (Please do not buy items with wording or inappropriate
\ngraphics.)

\nWhere: Hanover Town Hall, side parking lot, 550 Hanover Street<\/p>\n
COVID procedures \u2013 contactless collection:
\n\u2022\tYou will remain in your car, mask on.
\n\u2022\tAn Altrusa member will greet you in the parking lot. With mask and
\ngloves.
\n\u2022\tYou will place your donation (in a sealed, clear plastic bag) in a box
\nor bag from your car window. No need to get out of the car.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s important for our community to come together, especially in time of
\ngreater need. This is one effort that will be meaningful to so many.
\nBring a little extra warmth to those in our county who need extra help on
\nNational Make a Difference Day.
