I doubt I could be more proud of you. Fully 52% of registered voters have
\nvoted early in-person or by mail…ALREADY….in the middle of a pandemic.
\nThere’s one more day to vote in person, this Tuesday, November 3rd, in
\nperson, at the State Election. Election Day will be held at Hanover High
\nSchool, 287 Cedar Street. All four precincts vote in this one location.
\nWear a mask, plan to social distance and wait in line. Polls are open from
\n7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Those of you who have waited for the big day…this
\nis it! Can we break our current record of 86% turnout?!? I’ll be “bustin’
\nmy buttons” if so!<\/p>\n
Have a Vote by Mail ballot and haven’t turned it in yet? Don’t worry, you
\nare not alone (there are 600 of you) and not out of luck. Drop it off to
\nthe Town of Hanover ballot drop box, located in front of Hanover Town Hall,
\nby 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday 11\/3 and your ballot will be counted. Or, although
\nthis is not recommended at this point, get it snail-mail postmarked by 11\/3
\nand received in the Town Clerk’s Office by 11\/6, and it will be counted.<\/p>\n
Sent in your Vote by Mail ballot and want to make sure it will be counted?
\nGo to www.trackmyballotma.com and follow the directions to see where your
\nballot is and\/or if it has been “accepted”. That’s the magic word that
\nmeans “yes, my vote will be counted on Tuesday”. Despite my reluctance to
\nvote early, I broke down and did so in-person on Thursday and just checked
\n– I’ve been accepted. How about you?<\/p>\n
The Town Clerk’s Office will close at noon on Monday, November 2nd to
\nprepare for the election. The office will be closed for regular business
\non Tuesday, but the phones will be answered by a skeleton crew for
\nelection-related questions and drop-box pick-up!<\/p>\n
This is it, Hanover! Democracy wins only if you show up – one way or the
\nother. Let’s be proud of us…together, in the middle of a pandemic, no
\nless!<\/p>\n
