Nomination papers are now available!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n<p>Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced today that nomination<br \/>\npapers are now available for the Annual Town Election scheduled to be held<br \/>\nMay 8th, 2021.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the fact that Hanover Town<br \/>\nHall is closed to the public, interested candidates need to make an<br \/>\nappointment to pull papers.  \u201cAs a result,\u201d Harder-Bernier noted,<br \/>\n\u201cnomination papers are available two weeks earlier than they usually are,<br \/>\nto allow extra time for interested candidates to connect with the Town<br \/>\nClerk\u2019s Office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElection Day is set for May 8th and signed nomination papers are due<br \/>\nMarch 19th, 2021.  At this point in the year, there are a total of nine<br \/>\nanticipated open seats.  On the ballot this spring will be elections for<br \/>\ntwo members of the Board of Selectmen for a three year term, two members of<br \/>\nthe School Committee for a three year term, one member of the Board of<br \/>\nAssessors for a three year term, one member of the Planning Board for a<br \/>\nfive year term, one Board of Health member for a three year term, one<br \/>\nTrustee of the Public Library for a three year term, and one Moderator for<br \/>\na one year term\u201d, continued Harder-Bernier.<\/p>\n<p>Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Town Clerk\u2019s Office,<br \/>\nany of the related departments, or sitting members of the board or<br \/>\ncommittee they are interested in becoming a part of in order to gain more<br \/>\ninformation about an open position.  <\/p>\n<p>To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of<br \/>\nregistered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot.  Candidates<br \/>\nfor office have until Friday, March 19th to submit the signed nomination<br \/>\npapers to the Registrar\u2019s Office for signature certification.
