S. DOT), I have devoted my<br \/>\ncareer to improving the Nation\u2019s transportation information technology<br \/>\n(IT), cyber and physical systems.  My work has focused on IT systems<br \/>\nsecurity, risk management, project management, computer operations and<br \/>\ncontingency planning.  I am a national speaker for the U. S. DOT.  Under<br \/>\ntwo separate administrations I have been summoned to the White House to<br \/>\nbrief the Special Assistant on Cyber Security to the President of the<br \/>\nUnited States on cybersecurity in transportation.  I am a Past President of<br \/>\nthe New England Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association.  I<br \/>\nhave a proven track record of successfully leading several projects at the<br \/>\nnational, state and municipal level.<br \/>\nEducation:  I am a Graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, MA and hold<br \/>\na Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and an Associate of<br \/>\nScience in Electronic Data Processing.  I am also a graduate of the United<br \/>\nStates Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Fort Indiantown Gap, PA where I<br \/>\nhave earned the Battalion Noncommissioned Officer Graduate Certificate in<br \/>\nLeadership.<br \/>\nMilitary Service:  I am a Veteran of the United States 94th Army Reserve<br \/>\nCommand attaining the rank of Sergeant in the 324th Data Processing Unit at<br \/>\nHanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.<br \/>\nCommunity Citizenship:  Entering my 50th year in the Boy Scout Scouts of<br \/>\nAmerica, I am the founding Scoutmaster of Hanover\u2019s Boy Scout Troop 38<br \/>\nwhere my leadership team has assisted over 70 Scouts in attaining the<br \/>\ncoveted rank of Eagle.  Most of the Eagle Projects were completed within<br \/>\nthe Town of Hanover and required interaction with many Municipal<br \/>\nDepartments.   My service to community and Scouting continue as the Eagle<br \/>\nAdvisor to Troop 38, and to special projects and committees within<br \/>\nMayflower Council, BSA.  I am an active member of Hanover\u2019s American<br \/>\nLegion Post 149.<br \/>\nFamily:   I am passionate about my family where I am married to my<br \/>\nwonderful wife, Diane, for 36 years.  We are proud parents of four children<br \/>\nand three grandchildren.  Our children attended Hanover schools.  My two<br \/>\nsons and I are Eagle Scouts. I am a Vigil Honor within the BSA\u2019s Order of<br \/>\nthe Arrow and a recipient of the BSA\u2019s Silver Beaver Award.<\/p>\n<p>What are the major issues confronting the town which involve your office.<br \/>\nPlease express your opinion on these issues and how you propose to deal<br \/>\nwith them.<br \/>\n1.\tEnvironmental Stewardship<br \/>\na.\tPreserve open space and iconic properties that contribute to the history<br \/>\nand culture within the Town of Hanover<br \/>\nb.\tDiminish contaminants of our fresh water and ensure its supply is<br \/>\ncommensurate with Town growth<br \/>\nc.\tContinue our efforts to mitigate the National Firework Site and ensure<br \/>\nthat other potential hazardous sites are identified for possible cleanup<br \/>\nd.\tExplore the use of clean renewable energy for municipal use and explore<br \/>\nother uses of the town owned wind turbine<br \/>\n2.\tSmall Business Recovery and Redevelopment<br \/>\na.\tAssist small businesses hit hard by the economic effects of COVID-19<br \/>\nb.\tCoordinate with the Board of Selectman, local and state officials that<br \/>\nbusiness redevelopment along the Route 53 corridor is consistent with<br \/>\nHanover\u2019s need for tax growth, traffic management and master planning.<br \/>\n3.\tSchools<br \/>\na.\tEnsure that our schools continue to have the proper local and state<br \/>\nfunding necessary to operate at a high level of service for students,<br \/>\nteachers and parents, and that our schools remain safe.<br \/>\n4.\tFirst Responders and Veterans Services<br \/>\na.\tWork with our elected officials to ensure that Hanover receives the most<br \/>\nstate and local funding for our Police, Fire and all other First Responders<br \/>\nso that they can continue to operate at a high level of service<br \/>\nb.\tCoordinate with our Veterans Services to help ensure that they are<br \/>\nwell-funded and can continue to provide programs offered by local, state<br \/>\nand federal government.<br \/>\n5.\tMunicipal Finance<br \/>\na.\tIdentify federal, state and local grant monies for municipal use.<br \/>\nb.\tEnsure that town growth is commensurate with revenue and expenses and to<br \/>\noppose unnecessary tax increases.<br \/>\nWhy are you running for this office?<br \/>\nFor over 33 years, my family and I have called Hanover our home.  It is the<br \/>\nmost important reason why I am running for selectman.   I will use my<br \/>\nFederal experience as a Senior Project Manager, coupled with my military<br \/>\nand community service background to continue to make Hanover a great place<br \/>\nto live and raise a family now and in the future.
